Consultation on revised threshold criteria


We are consulting on revised threshold criteria and would like to know your views.

We have the power to investigate concerns about pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

The threshold criteria are used by decision-makers within the GPhC, who are involved in investigating concerns, to decide whether a case should be referred to the investigating committee.

We are consulting on revised threshold criteria to ensure they are an effective decision making tool and to take account of changes in pharmacy regulation, including the new standards for pharmacy professionals which will be introduced in 2017.

This consultation is part of a wider programme of reviewing all of the GPhC’s statutory decision-making guidance, which aims to support good decision-making at all stages of the fitness to practise process, and to make the process as clear and understandable as possible.
