Consultation on the revised initial education and training standards for pharmacists

We are seeking views on our revised initial education and training standards for pharmacists.

The consultation is open until 3 April 2019 and we would welcome input from interested groups across the pharmacy sector, including students, trainees, education and training providers, as well as pharmacy professionals, patients and the public.

The consultation focuses on our proposed changes to the following aspects of the initial education and training of pharmacists:

1. Learning outcomes

2. Standards for providers

3. Integrating the five years of initial education and training

4. Selection and admission requirements

5. Experiential learning and inter-professional learning

6. Learning in practice (pre-registration) supervision

There will be questions on each of these areas and you will have an opportunity to provide comments.

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. If you do not wish to complete all the questions in one go, you will have the option to save your responses and to return to complete the survey at a later date.

Questions marked with an asterisk (*) require a response. If you do not have a response to a question marked with an asterisk (*), please select ‘don’t know’.

Please read the consultation document and respond to our survey now - we look forward to hearing your views.
